Open Position: Family Nurse Practitioner

AparHealth Primary Care, located in Lugoff, SC, is looking for a licensed Family Nurse Practitioner to work with our clinical team to deliver compassionate care to our patients.

 

We are a small, family-friendly practice and are looking for a good fit. Our patient population consists of a lot of elderly patients. The right candidate would be someone who loves family practice and the variety that comes with it. The position can be part-time or full-time.

 

JOB DESCRIPTION:

  • Practice medicine using sound medical judgment and adhere to all ethical considerations of the practice of medicine;

  • Meet all clinical obligations of the medical practice: Accrediting Agency compliance, CLIA compliance, drug prescription compliance, HIPAA, State and Federal regulations, Safety Regulations, etc.

  • Handle clinical problems in family medicine as well as general internal medicine, pediatrics, dermatology, ENT, and Gyn. Know limitations and seek consult when advisable.

  • See patients in a timely and efficient manner. Stay reasonably on time for scheduled appointments in family practice throughout the day, unless exceptional circumstances occur

  • Document patient visit and record information on patients' charts in EMR in a timely manner.

  • Perform care services, such as listed below

  • Acute visits

  • Annual physicals, pap smears

  • Minor surgery and suturing (toe nail removal, mole and cyst removal, foreign object removal, etc.) – will train if needed

  • General orthopedic evaluations/management

  • Review of x-rays (Radiologist reports available)

  • Basic rehabilitation for musculoskeletal injuries

  • EKG interpretations

  • Emergency management

 

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Possess active SC Nursing License

  • Maintain National Board Certification

  • Maintain Basic Life Support Card

  • Maintain DEA Certification

  • Maintain unrestricted licensure/certification to practice medicine per state guidelines

  • Maintain prescriptive authority

  • Demonstrate knowledge of the rationale of appropriate patient care

  • Demonstrate ability to maintain good inter-personal relationships with co-workers

  • Demonstrate ability to handle emergency situations calmly and effectively

  • Document continuing education per licensure and certification requirements and clinic protocols

 

CUSTOMER SERVICE EXCELLENCE

  • Demonstrate ability to be courteous and respectful when interacting with patients and family members

  • Maintain patient confidentiality in accordance to policy and procedure and HIPAA requirement
